Settling In

A new home.
Our first home.
Empty rooms all a blank slate.
So. Darn. Excited.

Placing that first piece of furniture initiates a process of settling in. More furniture and selected, treasured objects come in and are carefully positioned, and room by room, this house becomes ours. We've claimed our tiny piece of this earth for this short blip of existence we have together.

  • We are intentionally placing the chairs and couch facing each other for conversation, not facing the television.
  • We have no kitchen table - only a formal dining table - to nourish ourselves in an environment that encourages us to slow down, savor the food, elevate the moment from ordinary and enjoy quality conversation with our loved one.
  • We are intentionally storing all but the essentials away in our kitchen, to keep our countertops clean and empty, minimizing visual clutter of appliances.

We are striving to live each day with intention, with a focus on what we value most, simplified-minimalist-inspired living, and being present in each moment to create a quality life. Beginning with this blank slate of establishing our lives together has launched us into this intentional, simplified lifestyle.

Won't you join us?
